To satisfy the high resolution data acquisition requirements typical for analogue site survey, pipeline route, cable route, acoustic pipeline inspection survey and other related applications, Fugro have developed the Starfix Geophysical Suite . This comprises the high specification GLog and GPlot software programs.
The GLog/GPlot system offers the speed, flexibility, and configurability for accurate and controllable digital data acquisition and provides for realtime data processing and archiving, thus enabling seamless data interpretation and electronic mapping. Up to four channels of sonar and seismic analogue acoustic data can be input via the Glog controlled filter/amplifier module and then passed to the A/D converter. The GLog system permits user selection of gain, sample interval, record length and delay. The GLog user interface permits channel independent control of data acquisition parameters, enables QC of data collected and provides system setup and project information functions. The Starfix Processing Suite provides facilities for onscreen interpretation of processed SEG-Y and XTF files. Starfix.Mosaic is used for sonar data while Starfix.Interp is used for seismic data.
Other Geophysical systems include the Starfix.Refraction bottom-towed refraction system that uses a multi channel seismic cable and sound source which are towed along the seabed to give real time refraction data to assist the interpretation of seabed density. This is for pipeline and cable routes, outfall and dredging surveys.
